This weekend, one of Morgan’s amazing friends came down to visit us from Washington while she was on her spring break. So I helped Morgan show off BYU to her. Friday consisted of Lunch at the Creamery Grill with Creamery Ice-Cream. After lunch we went to the park and hung out in the amazing sunshine. The weather recently has been so wonderful. And then, we thought to ourselves: “what is the most stereotypical BYU thing to do?” Our answer: Hike the Y. So later that night, we did just that.
It wasn’t a very long hike, probably around an hour to the middle of the Y. It was fun, the weather was great and you could see some of the stars, but unfortunately it was still a bit too cloudy to be able to see as many stars as I had hoped. It was really fun all in all.
The walk back down from the Y, believe it or not, was harder than the walk up. The whole time I kept imagining myself slipping and falling all the way down. It was just a bit harder on the knees. But we made it. I’ve been promised (kind of) that next time, (as in sometime before the semester ends) we will hike up the whole of Y Mountain.
Saturday, we went to the Cannon Center for lunch with Morgan, Kyra and Nick. The Cannon is buffet styled food, and it’s not all that bad. Plus it is a pretty typical BYU place. You can’t not eat at the Cannon at least once. And then we played Volleyball. Kyra is a volleyball master (she plays for her college up in Washington). So all in all, a pretty fun weekend with pretty awesome people and wonderful weather.
